The committee working to reconcile the Senate and House
versions of the budget is still working at drafting a compromise that both
chambers will accept. They have until
Tuesday, May 17th to release their report.
We know the people of Texas overwhelmingly oppose moving backwards
on public education, health care, and vital services for Texans. We need every
one of these Texans to raise their voice and make calls right away.
Take time out this weekend to gather friends, family, and
other people in your community to call the conference committee and tell them
that you want a better budget, one that includes spending the Rainy Day Fund to
protect our priorities in these difficult economic times.
